Amy hails from Georgia, and earned her PhD with Chun Han at Cornell. There, she used Drosophila to study dendritic development and the impact of nutritional deprivation. In the Kayser lab, Amy uses larvae to understand how and why sleep first comes under circadian control. Every Saturday morning, Amy and Matt bump into each other at the West Philadelphia Farmer’s Market. They dream of the day when the entire lab shows up and shops for potatoes together.
